What is an Energy Performance Certificate?

An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) is a document that reflects how efficient is the energy in your home. The efficiency will be assessed in relation to a scale of colors A-G (A being the most efficient and G the least efficient) as well as objective information on the energy characteristics, consumption, performance and possible improvements to the energy efficiency of a building. Along with energy certification, TASO will offer custom instructions on energy saving opportunities.

The certificate will summarize the energy consumption and the emission of carbon dioxide (CO2) on your property, and contain a series of recommendations and improvements to reduce the cost and energy expenditure.

Who is affected?

From day June 1, 2013, all property for sale or rent need a EPC. Applies to new or existing housing market.

Who should get the certificate?

The owner shall be performed by the Custom Energy Performance Certificate, as established by Royal Decree 235/2013

What is the validity?

How much?

The cost of an Energy Performance Certificate will vary based on the size of the property. TASO perform a custom budget for your case without obligation.
